Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP)

First Time Parents

Congratulations on being a new parent! If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Nurse-Family Partnership is here to support you by providing you with your very own, FREE nurse! Your nurse can answer questions you have about pregnancy and your new baby, help connect you to resources, and help you learn how to give your baby the healthiest start in life possible. As a Registered Nurse, your nurse can do things like check your blood pressure, weigh your baby, and help you talk to your doctor. They are also pros at swaddling, diaper changing and all things baby which means they’ve got your questions and worries covered!

What is the Program Like?

Your nurse will visit you in your home, or somewhere within Santa Cruz County, every 1-2 weeks (or at a schedule of your choosing) during and after your pregnancy until your child turns 2 years old. You and your nurse might talk about prenatal care, parenting, infant growth and learning, how to take care of your baby, breastfeeding, or whatever is on your mind. Your nurse will get to know you and help support you on your journey into parenthood. And if you’d like other family members or friends to participate in visits, that’s ok, too!
