Practice a normal behavior this year and receive your flu vaccine by the end of October. It is helpful to have children 6 months and older vaccinated each year. Children are at higher risk of severe sickness from the flu. For schools that are open with modifications this year, the CDC has resources to prevent spread of the flu during the COVID-19 pandemic: 

 

  • Flu illness is more dangerous than the common cold for children. Each year, millions of children get sick with seasonal flu; thousands of children are hospitalized, and some children die from flu. Children commonly need medical care because of flu, especially children younger than 5 years old.
