MediCruz Advantage (MCA) provides quality, low-cost health care services
to low-income, uninsured people living in Santa Cruz County. MediCruz
Advantage members select a clinic to be their Primary Care Provider
(PCP). Members will see their PCP for all their basic health care and
the PCP will refer them to specialty services if needed.
The MediCruz Advantage (MCA)
program is a voluntary two-year participation demonstration project,
expiring December 31, 2013. , whose purpose is to:

Provide
the opportunity to begin an early implementation of key coverage
expansion components of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care
Act.

Promote
stability in the health care delivery system and promote patient
centered medical care.

Promote
integration of behavioral health services and primary health care
services.

Maximize
federal funds for low income adults care.
-
Provide
for increased efficiency in state and local health care funding.

Promote
quality, value, and better health outcomes in the provision of
health care services.
Eligibility
-
Must
have lived in Santa Cruz County for six months or longer.
-
A
legal permanent resident (at least 5 years) or a U.S. citizen.

Between
19-64 years old.

Not
eligible for Medi-Cal
-
Income
cannot be more than a certain amount ($10,896 per year or $908 per
month for one person).
