Court Drug Court is a collaboration between the County of Santa
Cruz Superior Court,
Health Services Agency’s Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services
division, the Probation Department, and the Alto Counseling Center. Also
involved are the District Attorney’s Office,
the Sheriff’s Office and the Public Defender’s Office. Through close
coordination of treatment services and the criminal justice system, Drug
Treatment Court clients are ensured quick access to treatment and receive immediate
feedback and consequences for both positive and negative behaviors as
they work toward recovery. Alcohol and other drug education, group and
individual counseling, employment counseling and case management
services are provided to court referred clients for a minimum of one
year. Dismissal of primary criminal drug cases act as an incentive for
successful program completion. By working together we are realizing
better outcomes with less recidivism than traditional approaches. |
